Rome ( TV series) was a joint HBO/BBC television series that ran for two seasons. It chronicles the transition of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire in ancient Rome.

The series primarily focuses on the lives and deeds of the lives & families of two Roman soldiers named Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo.They (Vorenus and Pullo) witness and influence many of the historical events depicted in the series like the fall of the Republic and the rise of an Empire.

Season Synopsis

Season 1

The first season depicts Julius Caesar's civil war (49 BC) against the traditionalist conservative faction in the Roman Senate, his rise to dictatorship over Rome, and his fall, spanning the time from the end of the Gallic Wars of 52 BC until his assassination on 44 BC. In season 1 The fates of Pullo & Vorenus cross those of Caesar, Cleopatra,Mark Antony and the Octavian boy who will rise to the throne of the Emperor of Rome.

Season 2

The second season revolves around the power struggle between the Octavian boy and Mark Antony post Caesar's assassination. Season 2 spans the period from Caesar's death  to the suicide of Antony and Cleopatra in 30 B.C. after their defeat at the Battle of Actium.
