Lysandros was a Greek who escorted Pompey and his family on the way to Amphipoli, along with a small crew. Although he remained with Pompey even after the Roman was deserted by his guards and entourage, he remained primarily motivated by gold. He helped nurse Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo to health following their shipwreck. He then attempted to convince both men to assist him in turning Pompey over to Gaius Julius Caesar. He was instead killed by Lucius after assuming the Romans intended to hand over Pompey and keep the money for themselves.
